West Ham have expressed an interest in signing Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay and are reportedly monitoring his situation at Old Trafford. Their interest comes after United agreed to sign Casemiro on a four-year deal, with an option to extend for a further year. Casemiro’s arrival could push McTominay further down the pecking order, with Fred and his compatriot already forming an effective partnership at international level. According to 90mins, West Ham have also entered the race to sign the midfielder as David Moyes looks to strengthen his ranks. The West Ham boss has already signed Flynn Downes but needs extra cover for Declan Rice and Tomas Sucek. Moyes believes 34-year-old Scot McTominay is the perfect man for the job and is said to be monitoring his situation at United. The places of Christian Eriksen and Fred are also in danger after the two midfielders put in particularly ineffective displays in west London last weekend. Eriksen was developed much higher up the pitch against Brighton before playing in a much deeper midfield role at Brentford, and it’s clear that Ten Haag is still unsure how to get the best out of the Danish star. Van de Beek played 110 games and scored 32 goals, providing 29 assists under Ten Haag at Ajax. Donny Van de Beek has only played 90 minutes for United on three occasions in the Premier League despite scoring on his debut. However, he could be handed a place in United’s starting line-up against Liverpool. James Garner has also played a part in training this week, leading to speculation over whether the youngster will feature against Liverpool, despite Ten Haag admitting he would consider selling the midfielder this summer. The 21-year-old defensive midfielder was expected to be given a chance by the Dutchman given how limited his options are in midfield, and was impressive as he featured 44 times for Nottingham Forest en route to promotion last season.
