Matthew Boulter, from Grimsby, was sentenced in court on Tuesday after pleading guilty to assaulting an emergency services worker and causing unnecessary suffering to an animal. He also pleaded guilty to assault, criminal damage and two counts of assault. Boulter was arrested on August 14 after police received reports of a series of assaults earlier that evening. During his arrest he punched and kicked some fencing at a police officer, causing minor injuries. He also bit a police dog on the head and then grabbed and twisted its collar. He was arrested after he was seen assaulting three people and causing criminal damage outside a venue. Image: PD Xander made a full recovery. He is part of the police family. “The previous incidents happened in a very public location and would have caused distress to the victims and passers-by. We want to make sure our cities are safe for people to live, work and visit, so I’m glad Boulter was caught quickly and convicted of these offences. “Thankfully, PD Xander quickly made a full recovery and returned to work the next day.”
