The iPhone 14 at Apple’s September event

The iPhone 14 series will be the star of Apple’s September event. With four new models set to be unveiled, expect a lot of hype from a new iPhone 14 Plus/Max. While the regular models won’t have much to differ from the current generation iPhone 13, a larger model would be a nice addition. Expect big changes for the iPhone 14 Pro at Apple’s September event, as reported by 9to5Mac. With a new design, a better processor and huge improvements on the camera side, the iPhone 14 series will likely be one of Apple’s biggest releases in years.

Latest rumors about the iPhone 14 models

In recent weeks, 9to5Mac reported that while there will be no price increase for the regular iPhone 14 models, Apple will likely raise the prices of the iPhone 14 Pro by up to $100. In addition, a well-known iPhone case hacker has shared identical silicone cases for the iPhone 14 series that Apple will likely announce alongside the new phones at the September event, as you can learn more about them here. Another user shared the iPhone colors that Apple expects to unveil in a few weeks from now:

Three new Apple Watches are coming

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple will introduce three new Apple Watch models in 2022, which he calls the most significant update to the watch in years. These watches could be unveiled at the Apple September Event. The Apple Watch Series 8 will at least get a new body temperature sensor and better battery life. The Apple Watch SE will likely see a second generation, while Apple is also preparing a rugged “Pro” version of the current watch with a different design and premium finish for extreme sports. Below, we’ve rounded up everything we know about these upcoming Apple Watches that will likely be unveiled during Apple’s September event.

AirPods Pro 2 at Apple’s September event

In addition to the iPhone 14 series and the new Apple Watch models, Apple could present at the September event the new AirPods Pro 2. With a similar design to the current generation, 9to5Mac’s sources have confirmed that the next AirPods Pro model – codenamed B698 – will feature the next version of the H1 chip, Apple’s own audio processor. Additionally, reports of LC3 codec support in the AirPods Max beta firmware indicate that the AirPods Pro 2 could be the first to add Bluetooth 5.2 support. This codec will provide more stability and efficiency to wireless headphones. Not only that, but this new standard will help AirPods Pro 2 improve sound quality for voice calls and songs with higher bitrate support. Although Bluetooth Low Power and the LC3 codec do not promise “Lossless Bluetooth”, they will definitely improve sound quality significantly.

Apple Mixed Reality Headset

Rumors about Apple’s Mixed Reality Headset have grown over the past year. During Apple’s event in September, the company could revive Steve Jobs’ “One More Thing” phrase to tease the company’s upcoming Mixed Reality headset. Rumors currently expect it to be unveiled at the end of this year and go on sale in 2023. Apple’s September event could be the perfect time for Apple to reveal to the public that it is entering a new market. For example, earlier this year, the company teased that it was working on a new Mac Pro without further details.

iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13 Ventura, watchOS 9 and tvOS 16 coming during Apple’s September event?

It depends. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, iPadOS 16 has been delayed by at least a month, as Apple plans to release it in October – along with macOS 13 Ventura. During the Apple September Event, its CEO Tim Cook will likely announce the release date for iOS 16, watchOS 9 and tvOS 16. iOS 16 code hints at an Always-On Display on the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro. With a new lock screen, more focus filter features and improvements to Messages, users will have a lot to take advantage of with this OS. New Macs and iPads could come a little later

Apple is also expected to introduce several new Macs and at least two iPads in 2022. While the company unveiled a new MacBook Pro in October, Apple could be preparing another keynote a month later to bring in new Macs and iPads. In his newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said Apple has new Mac minis and advanced MacBook Pros for later this year. 9to5Mac’s sources have already confirmed that Apple is working on the entry-level model of the tenth generation iPad and a new iPad Pro.

When will Apple hold its event in September?

Apple usually holds its events on Tuesdays. A Bloomberg report states that Apple will hold its September event on September 7, a Tuesday. With an earlier announcement, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Apple wants to report a stronger quarter in addition to avoid supply constraints, as you can learn more about that here. While nothing has been confirmed, it’s common sense that this could be the perfect time for the company to unveil the iPhone 14, Apple Watch Series 8 and more. Since WWDC 2022 had a hybrid experience, it looks like the company could bring the same experience to its September event, as a report says that Apple has already started recording the keynote.
