Locals were seen examining and photographing the tanks as children climbed on top of them. The parade follows other morale-boosting displays of Russia’s damaged and abandoned military equipment. In May, Kyiv residents gathered in St. Michael’s Square to see a glimpse of tanks as a sense of normalcy returned to the capital. Other displays have seen tanks parade through towns and cities across Ukraine, as well as abroad.
