Environment Canada is warning of a risk of thunderstorms across the BC Interior. From Kamloops to Penticton, forecasters are advising that thunderstorms are possible later today. “There is a 40 percent chance of showers this afternoon with a chance of a thunderstorm. Wind becoming northwest 20 km/h this afternoon,” says Environment Canada’s forecast for Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon and Kamloops. Although no weather warning has been issued, thunderstorms are possible today and Sunday. With temperatures expected to reach 30 degrees for next week, the previous heat warning has been lifted, but South Okanagan residents are being told there may be smoke from the fire burning near Keremeo.
