The strange behavior is not Casey’s first controversy, as he has made headlines over the years for two accusations of sexual harassment by female colleagues.
Two women who worked on the 2010 comedy-drama I’m Still Here, which chronicled former brother-in-law Joaquin Phoenix’s transition from acting to hip-hop, are suing. One of the film producers alleged “sexual harassment” and “breach of verbal contract”.

The celebrity couple are set to hold their second wedding ceremony with loved ones on Saturday at Affleck’s Riceboro estate, a month after they tied the knot in secret in a small ceremony in Las Vegas.

As Ben and Jennifer prepare to say “I do” for the second time, all eyes are on Affleck’s gorgeous Georgia mansion that he first bought for $7.1 million in 2003.
While Affleck recently put the sprawling 87-acre property up for sale for $8.9 million, he ultimately decided to keep the home and use it for a glamorous wedding ceremony with the beautiful Lopez.
The two will have their wedding ceremony today, a massive $400,000 affair that involved months of preparation, including setting up a dance floor and shipping in glassware, linens and furniture.
The home, built in 2000, is a “plantation imitation” mansion in Riceboro, Georgia that overlooks the North Newport River on private Hampton Island.
The main “big house” mansion is the crown jewel of the property and features 6,000 square feet of space, four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and balconies that overlook the swampy river.
The property was originally home to a “thriving” rice plantation known as Hampton Pastures and was owned by Roswell King. The plantation was operated by slaves before the Civil War.
A white walkway has been set up from the back porch of the Big House to the water, where an awning has been installed.
The couple have already faced some unplanned hiccups with their wedding preparations, including Affleck’s mother, Christopher Anne Boldt, falling off the dock and being rushed to hospital with an arm injury.
The choice of venue raised a few eyebrows as Affleck learned in 2015 that his ancestors once owned scores of slaves on a farm just north of the property in Savannah.
Affleck learned about his family’s sordid past when investigators for the PBS show Finding Your Roots found extensive evidence that the actor’s great-great-great-grandfather, Benjamin Cole, owned between 25 and 31 slaves on a Savannah farm around 1850s during the Civil War.
Affleck landed in hot water when leaked emails revealed he begged the show to cut a segment of the episode where he was told about his family’s slave-owning past. The show agreed and instead focused on his mother’s story as a freedom rider during the Civil Rights movement. Affleck later apologized for the cover-up.
“I didn’t want any TV show about my family to feature a guy who owned slaves. I was ashamed. The very thought left a bad taste in my mouth,” he wrote in a Facebook post, “I regret my initial thoughts that the subject of slavery was not included in the story. We deserve neither credit nor responsibility for our ancestors, and the level of interest in this story suggests that, as a nation, we are still grappling with the terrible legacy of slavery.”
Transcripts from the cut segment showed Affleck saying news of his family’s past gave him “a sense of relief,” while the show’s host noted the irony that 100 years after his family owned salves his mother was taking her own life of black rights on the line.
