“I’m not going to encourage anyone to run for president. I’ve done it myself, and that’s something I’m not doing again. I don’t know if he really wants to do that,” Romney said during remarks at the South Valley Chamber of Commerce in Sandy, Utah, on Thursday.
“She wouldn’t be running if she was running. I can’t imagine that happening,” he said.
Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, has been a fierce critic of former President Donald Trump. She has served as the Republican representative on the Jan. 6 Committee and was one of only 10 House Republicans to vote for his impeachment.

Cheney’s actions have alienated her deeply from Republicans in deep-red Wyoming, and she was shut out in Tuesday’s primary by attorney Harriet Hageman — who was endorsed by both Trump and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
Cheney — who has become something of a liberal folk hero — has since emerged as a possible presidential candidate and said she will make a decision in the coming months, she told NBC News.
