Fire crews in Oliver were held up while trying to get to the scene of a trailer fire Saturday, stuck behind traffic that had gathered to take a look. The Oliver Fire Department shared a reminder to the public on Facebook asking people to stay away from the area when smoke or flames are seen. “This is not the time to get a nice picture on your socials,” they said after the units were having problems while driving. “This is not only a huge safety risk for our crews, but also for those leading up to an already chaotic scene.” OFD said that could delay needed resources for the scene. “Be aware that people’s lives may be at risk and you may be delaying the resources needed to save that life.” “Please don’t be part of the problem. Stay out of the area and allow crews to respond without having to navigate traffic that doesn’t need to be obstructed.”
